Abstract
The effect of the probe field in a magnetic force microscope on the magnetization distribution in objects under study has been theoretically investigated. The perturbation of uniform magnetization state in thin ferromagnetic samples under the probe field was analyzed in the linear approximation. The additional contribution to the magnetic force microscope contrast caused by a local magnetic bias of the sample was calculated.
