Abstract

The reasons for leaking surfaces of Christmas tree valves have been analyzed, the tightness ensuring conditions taking into account the surface pressure have been considered, and the optimum design of direct-flow gate valves used in the Christmas tree valves of oilfield equipment has been developed. The values of the major geometric parameter and the fulfillment of all conditions have been given and scientifically substantiated by setting constant design parameters. The substantiation has been carried out by mathematical analysis; geometric, linear, and nonlinear programming; and penalty function and analytical calculation methods.
