Abstract
The influence of a corrosive medium on the characteristics of endurance strength of samples of chrome–nickel steel 38KhNMA was considered. It was shown that, under the conditions of the impact of a corrosive medium, the issue that the endurance strength must be estimated by the results of statistical tests of laboratory samples while bringing the results of their processing in determination of the lower boundaries of scattering of the durability limits and longevities, i.e., to obtaining fatigue curve P = 0, remains of fundamental scientific and practical importance. Fatigue curve Р = 0 determines the endurance strength of a large (full-scale) object in a corrosive medium.
