Abstract
Computational studies of the effect of profile modification of involute straight cogs on vibrations of spur gears with gear-meshing frequency were conducted using a mathematical-modeling method. An analysis of different variants of straight and curved modification of cogs is carried out. It is shown that profile modification can produce both positive and negative results.
