Abstract

The paper presents recommended criteria of operational survivability of structures at the aircraft design stage. The criteria are based on a generalization of results of computational and experimental studies conducted in the TsAGI with companies O.K. Antonov, S.V. Il’yushin, A.N. Tupolev, and A.S. Yakovlev, taking into account foreign experience. Requirements for determining intervals between inspections to detect corrosion and fatigue damage are considered.
