Abstract
This paper presents a model of filtration of incompressible fluids through orthotropic media based on flow continuity equations and the Darcy hypothesis about the gradient character of the pressure field in the filtered flows. The model shows that, in the general case, equal pressure surfaces are ellipsoidal. This paper gives formulas to calculate the permeability coefficients from experimental data.
