Abstract
Formulas are derived that allow assessment of the variation factor of the limiting load that disables a complex system containing sequentially connected elements. The variation factor of the limiting load of a system is shown to be limited from below by the variation factor of the limiting load of a balanced-life system, where the variation factor of the limiting load of an element equals the minimal variation factor. The limitation from above is determined by the maximal variation factor of the limiting load of an element.
