About Fact-Checking of Online Scientific Publications

Abstract

The features of verifying the reliability of information of scientific content posted on the Internet are considered. A definition of the concept of fact is given; the functions of the factual material and the criteria for its evaluation are named. The main participants in the process of fact-checking of scientific publications are identified; it is proposed to introduce the parameter of the authoritative source into the verification system of scientific information. The potential and prospects of using artificial intelligence in fact-checking are discussed.
