Analysis of polymorphic variants of PDE4D gene in patients with acute stroke from Moldavian population
The risk of the development of ischemic stroke is caused by both genetic predisposition and environmental factors. In recent investigations, the DeCode group discovered polymorphisms in the phosphodiesterase 4D (PDE4D) gene associated with the risk of the development of ischemic stroke. The aim of the present work was to investigate two polymorphisms in the PDE4D gene (SNP41 (rs52312) and SNP87 (rs2910829)) in patients with ischemic stroke and in the control sample from the Moldavian ethnic group. Statistically significant data about the association between ischemic stroke and studied polymorphisms were not detected.
