Molecular Genetics, Microbiology and Virology Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

Problems and aspects of the intraspecific differentiation of the plague infectious agent are discussed. Special attention is paid to the necessity of a more precise definition of the taxonomic location of plague agents in view of their genotypic characteristics, selective virulence, and the evolutionary descent of the genus Yersinia.
