Abstract

In this study we focused on life history parameters of Electrogena ujhelyii. We studied life cycle, nymphal growth pattern, biomass and secondary production in a small, calcareous stream in Malé Karpaty Mts (West Carpathians). The life cycle was univoltine with a large range in the size of nymphs during most samples dates. Mean annual density was 40 ind. m−2 and the annual secondary production reached 183 mg DW m−2 y−1. There are no published data available on the secondary production values of this species, therefore these are the first published data.
