Identity of Menacanthus obrteli Balát (Phthiraptera: Menoponidae) from the Savi’s warbler (Passeriformes: Sylviidae)

Abstract

The louse Menacanthus obrteli Balát, 1981 is resurrected from synonymy as a valid species, with Locustella luscinioides, the Savi’s warbler, as the type-host. Both sexes of this louse species are redescribed and illustrated.
