Changes and additions in ipomoea section batatas (Convolvulaceae)

Abstract

A new species, Ipomoea tabascana, is described from Mexico, and the combination I. batatas var. apiculata is made for plants endemic to Veracruz. Comments on the alliance of I. umbraticola with the section Batatas are given.
