A new genus of Lauraceae from Costa Rica, with comments on problems of generic and specific delimitation within the family

Abstract

Povedadaphne quadriporata is described and illustrated. Its possible relationships are suggested. The problems of specific and generic delimitation in Lauraceae are discussed from the viewpoint of a study of Costa Rica's nearly 100 species.
