Abstract
A systematic key to and descriptions of the 15 Mexican species ofDichanthelium are presented. One new species,D. macrospermum, is described and two,D. viscidellum (Scribner) Gould andD. albomaculatum (Scribner) Gould, are transferred fromPanicum. Two varieties are recognized in the type species,D. dichotomum (L.) Gould, var.dichotomum and var.tenue (Muhl.) Gould & Clark, and four in the polymorphic and widespreadD. acuminatum (Swartz) Gould & Clark: var.acuminatum, var.villosum (A. Gray) Gould & Clark, var.implication (Scribner) Gould & Clark, and var.lindheimeri (Nash) Gould & Clark.
