Abstract
Keys to and descriptions and discussions of the geography and ecology of the six members of theCnidoscolus tubulosus alliance (sect.Calyptrosolen) from Central America and Mexico are given.Jatropha tubulosa andJ. liebmannii are typified and recircumscribed.Cnidoscolus tehuacanensis from the Tehuacán Valley andC. rostratus Lundell subsp.hintonii and subsp.glabratus from the Río Balsas Depression are described as new taxa from Mexico.
