Abstract
New evidence is accumulating to suggest that bisphosphonate drugs not only build bone, but also significantly reduce fracture risk in patients receiving long-term corticosteroid therapy. These findings may spell the beginning of the end for osteoporosis, delegates were told at the 1998 Annual Meeting of the American College of Rheumatology [ San Diego, US; November 1998 ].
