EC ‘Future Systems’ - clarifying the situation

Abstract

The new Economic Community (EC) ‘Future Systems’ for governing drug approval and safety monitoring will begin to operate from January 1995. With this introduction will come EC-wide changes of major importance to the pharmaceutical industry - so it is not surprising that some confusion regarding appropriate responses from companies and member states still remains. At a recent conference organised by IIR Ltd, entitled ‘Effectively Managing ADR Information’, an attempt was made to clarify the situation.
