Abstract
Results of a major trial have dashed hopes that low-dose aspirin has a role for all pregnant women at increased risk of pre-eclampsia or intrauterine growth retardation. The Collaborative Low-dose Aspirin Study in Pregnancy (CLASP) has refuted the results of smaller trials of low-dose aspirin and other antiplatelet therapies that suggested pre-eclampsia could be reduced by about 75% with these agents.
