  1. Dr Jean-Pierre Tassignon is the Chairman of the EFGCP Board, a lecturer and examiner for the Pharmed PG Course in Pharmaceutical Medicine at the Free University of Brussels, Belgium, and Executive Vice-President of PSI Pharma Support International AG, Switzerland.

  2. Dr Ingrid Klingmann of Pharmaplex is the CEO of the Analgesia Centre, University College London, a member of the board of EFGCP, Chairperson of the EFGCP Ethics Working Party, member of the European Advisory Council of the Drug Information Association (DIA) and member of the board of the Association of Applied Human Pharmacology in Germany.

  3. Dr Frank Wells works as a consultant. He is also the co-Chair of the EFGCP Ethics Working Party and its subgroup looking at the structure and function of ethics committees throughout Europe. He is the founder Chairman of the Ethical Issues Committee of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, London, and co-editor of the Third Edition of Fraud and Misconduct in Biomedical Research.

  4. Mr Christian Siebert works for the European Commission in the DG Enterprise and Industry division and is the Head of Unit 7 ‘Competitiveness in the Pharmaceutical Industry and Biotechnology’.

  5. Prof. Ole Bjerrum is a Professor of Pharmacology at the Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Copenhagen, and the immediate past-Chairman of European Federation of Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS).

  6. EUREKA is a pan-European network for encouraging market-oriented, collaborative R&D projects. It involves organisations from 35 European countries and the European Commission. EUREKA is not a funding organisation itself but it can help to find funding for projects.

  7. Dr Irene Norstedt works for the European Commission in the Health Research Directorate and is the Head of Sector ‘Innovative Medicines’.

  8. Dr Ian Ragan is the Director of CIR Consultancy Ltd, a consultant to Eli Lilly for European Scientific Affairs, a member of the R&D Committee of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), a member of the Research Directors Group of the EFPIA and Acting Director of the European Brain Council.

  9. Dr Birka Lehmann works in the Pharmaceuticals Unit, DG Enterprise of the European Commission, and is also a lecturer in drug regulatory affairs at the Universities of Bonn, Germany.

  10. Prof. Fritz Bühler is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Medicine and Physiopathology in the Department of Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Basel, Switzerland. He is also the Director of the European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine, and Managing Partner of Bear Stearns Health Innoventures, New York, USA.

  11. Mr Nikos Dedes is the Chair of the European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG), and Vice-Chair of the nongovernment organisation ‘Synthesis’ promoting awareness, prevention and research about HIV/AIDS in Greece.

  12. Dr Klaus Rose is the Head of Pediatrics in Pharma Development at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Pharmaceuticals, Switzerland, and is also the Chairman of the EFGCP Children’s Medicines Working Party.

  13. Dr Thierry Nebout is a Senior Consultant in Medical Sciences to the President of Research and Development at Servier, France, an EFGCP board member, member of the EFPIA Efficacy Group and of the Paediatrics Priority Action Team (PAT), a member of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) Regulatory Policy and Technical Standards Committee, and a European Platform for Patient Organisations, Science and Industry (EPPOSI) board member.

  14. Prof. Daan Crommelin works in the Department of Pharmaceutics, Utrecht University, The Netherlands, and is an Adjunct Professor for the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Utah, USA. He is also the Scientific Director, Dutch Top Institute Pharma, CSO, OctoPlus, Leiden, The Netherlands.

  15. Dr Petra Laux is the Head of European Public Affairs for Novartis and on the Economic and Social Policy Committee of EFPIA.

  16. Dr Michael Herschel is the Director of Clinical Research for GSK, Germany and a Verband Forschender Arzneimittelhersteller (VFA) member.

  17. Prof. Jean-Marc Husson is a co-Director of the European Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine (Eudipharm), a consultant in Pharmaceutical Medicine, and member of the board for EFGCP.

  18. Dr Fergal Donnelly is the Scientific Officer for the Biotechnology and Applied Genomics Unit, Health Directorate, DG Research for the European Commission.

  19. Mr Ysbrand Poortman works for the European Platform for Patients’ Organisations, Science and Industry (EPPOSI) and the European Genetic Alliances Network (EGAN).

  20. Dr Francis de Halleux is the General Secretary of the Belgian College of Pharmaceutical Medicine, a lecturer for the Pharmed PG Course on Pharmaceutical Medicine at the Free University of Brussels, Belgium, and a member of the board of the Belgian Association of Pharmaceutical Physicians.

  21. Dr Richard Tiner is the Medical Director of the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) and Executive Director of MLI Ltd (which investigates research misconduct).

  22. Prof. Jan Hasker Jonkman works in Quality Management in Drug Research at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, and is a member of the board of the EFGCP.

  23. Thomas Gallacher is the past Director of Medical Policy and Standards for GSK and a member of the board and Treasurer of the EFGCP.

  24. Corinne Devaux is an R&D Project Manager for Nanobiotix, France.

  25. Dr Johan Vanhemelrijck is the CEO of HI&PP Consult and Secretary General of EuropaBio.

  26. Prof. Josep Torrent-Farnell is the Chair of the Committee for Orphan Medicinal Products for the European Medicines Agency (EMEA), works at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, and is the Director General of the Advanced Centre of Services and Training for Health and Life Sciences for the Doctor Robert Foundation.
