In the present case, DNA-intercalator complexes were also able to be stained with ethidium bromide. This is considered to be due to the exchange reaction of ethidium bromide with relevant intercalaltors. When large amounts of inetecalators having higher DNA-binding affinity than ethidium bromide were used, DNA-intercalator complexes was not visualized by ethidium bromide staining.
