DEPARTMENT OF MATERIALS SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Delaware invites application for a full-time, Continuing Track Assistant Professor position with a focus on curriculum development and teaching related to all aspects of the new undergraduate major in Materials Science and Engineering.

The successful applicant will join the 20 year old Department of Materials Science and Engineering to help launch the new undergraduate major, which will benefit from what is already a successful and growing Ph.D. and M.S. graduate program. Materials Science and Engineering University of Pennsylvania

The School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania initiated a period of significant growth in 2015 that has resulted in 30 new faculty hires of which four are in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. The department is continuing this aggressive, multi-year hiring effort by seeking a tenure-track assistant professor. Exceptional applicants for tenured associate and full professor positions may also be considered.

ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE OR FULL PROFESSOR

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in the area of mechanical behavior of advanced structural materials. Although candidates at the assistant professor level are preferred, exceptionally well qualified candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of associate or full professor.

The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to interface with growing interests and capabilities at the University in mechanical phenomena at very small scales (micro- and nano-) and how they influence and control macro-scale deformation and failure. Relevant expertise includes new mechanical testing methods, including those used at small scales, and advanced microstructural characterization techniques for examining deformation microstructures. The successful applicant will be required to teach, advise, and mentor graduate students; develop an independent, externally funded research program; participate in all aspects of the department’s activities, and serve the profession.
