Familial drusen of the optic nerve head associated with choroidal neovascular membranes

Abstract

Drusen of the optic nerve head associated with a choroidal neovascular membrane have been reported, but, to the best of our knowledge this is the first report of such an occurrence in two members of the same family, a mother and son. Optic disc drusen should be included as a possible cause of choroidal neovascular membranes, especially in cases that are otherwise atypical.
