International Aquatic Research (IAR) launched in 2009 is a peer-reviewed international journal covering all aspects of aquatic science. The journal attracts articles that can improve the scientific knowledge in the various research topics related to aquaculture, fish nutrition, aquatic ecology, food science, aquatic food product technology, molecular biology as well as all the other topics related to aquatic science. IAR is an exciting journal, publishing original research articles, short communications, and review articles. The journal aims at publishing three issues containing about 20 to 25 articles per year.

This is the official journal of Islamic Azad University which provides all the funds to cover the cost of publications. There is no page charge for the articles published in IAR. The journal also publishes articles with colored figures and photographs free of charges. IAR is an open access journal which can be freely accessed by all readers.

It adopts a broad, multidisciplinary approach to the subject of aquatic and food science. It draws contributions in the form of major synoptic papers and syntheses or meta-analyses that lay out new approaches, re-examine existing findings, methods or theory, and discuss papers and commentaries from diverse areas of aquatic science. An article in IAR should draw upon all key elements of the existing literature on a topic, have a broad geographical scope, and provide general points which make it compelling to a wide public. Thus, we aim to serve as a focus for scientists, stakeholders and managers concerned with acquatic habitats and fisheries.
