TiO2-supported K2Ti6O13 with different loadings was prepared by impregnation of KOH on TiO2 surface and calcination at 1073 K. UV-DRS results revealed that the band gap of K2Ti6O13 layered compound (LC) was larger than that of TiO2. Photo-catalysis results revealed that the decomposition of dye occurred on the surface of LC. Although increasing LC loadings in supported layered compounds (SLC) enhanced the efficiency of dye photo-decomposition, the specific activity of LC decreased with increase of LC loadings in SLC, which was tentatively ascribed to the decreased effect of electron-transfer between LC and TiO2 and/or the aggregation of LC on the surface of TiO2.
