The photo-fries rearrangement of α-naphthyl acetate in cyclodextrin and micelle

Abstract

The photo-Fries rearrangement of α-naphthyl acetate in organic solvents, water, cyclodextrin aqueous solution and micellae have been performed. The ortho/para migration ratio in cyclodextrin is altered in favour of the ortho position, while the o/p ratios in micellae lie between that in organic solvent and water.
