Abstract.
The paper presents a unified elastic-viscoelastic model which can well represent seismic wave propagation through subsurface media. We consider its transient effects, that is, the short-lived wave propagation through certain media caused by a sudden change of state for a very short time. We obtain two kinds of asymptotic expansions with different differential orders in space-time domains for the impact viscoelastic waves by Buchen-Mainardi algorithm method.
