Abstract
Recent results of the NA49 collaboration on the production of p and p̄ at midrapidity in central Pb+Pb collisions in the beam energy range 20–158 A GeV are presented. The preliminary results for the rapidity distributions of p and p̄ at 40 A GeV are also discussed.
