Abstract

The enhanced \(^{51}\hbox {V}\) NMR in \(\hbox {Al}_{2} \hbox {O}_{{3}}\) and [C(\(\hbox {NH}_{2})_{3}\)]Al(\(\hbox {SO}_{4})_{2} {\cdot }6\hbox {H}_{2}\)O have been studied. Both systems are Van Vleck paramagnets. Analysis of enhanced \(^{51}\hbox {V}\) NMR and \(\hbox {V}^{{3+}}\) ESR data allowed us to estimate vanadium nuclear quadrupole frequencies and hyperfine interaction constant B for \(^{51} \hbox {V}^{{3+}}\) ions in corundum for the first time.

Contributions

The article preparation took very long time starting from the \(^{51}\hbox {V}\) NMR experiments in GASH (1984). It has been followed by the first analysis of experimental data, initiation of the common analysis of \(^{51}\hbox {V}\) NMR in corundum and GASH, and the final outline of enhanced NMR in the ions of the iron transition group. The authors contributed equally into these items.
