Abstract.

We study the influence of electron doping in Ba1 + x Sr1-3x La2x FeMoO6 (\(x\le 0.3\)) double perovskites, where the designed combination for the cationic site minimizes the influence of steric effects. We find an increase of the Curie temperature (T C ), which supports the claim of the important role played by the band filling in the value of T C . Other effects like changes in the bare electronic bandwidth (determined by structural parameters) and Fe/Mo antisite defects seem to play a less relevant role in the increase of T C in this series. Changes in structural parameters, magnetization and magnetotransport properties as a function of Ba/La doping are correlated with an increase of the density of states at the Fermi level and a moderate rise of antisites.
