Abstract:

A particular transformation of coordinates, associated with superluminal X-pulses, leaves the wave equation invariant and changes focus wave modes into superluminal focus wave pulses. Rather simple and manageable expressions for TM electromagnetic waves allow the investigation of these new localized solutions of Maxwell's equations.
