Abstract

Geometrically frustrated magnets are a hot topic in solid state physics, yielding exotic ground states such as spin liquids, spin ices or chemically ordered spin glasses, and emergent excitations like magnetic monopoles. Neutron scattering is an invaluable tool to study them, and a large variety of techniques has been used so far. Recent examples are shown, focusing on the model pyrochlores R2T2O7. High intensity neutron sources should open new perspectives in such studies.
