Band mixing in 154Gd

Abstract.

I have applied a simple two-state mixing model to members of the first two rotational bands in 154Gd. Resulting mixing amplitudes are similar for \(0^{+}\), \(2^{+}\), \(4^{+}\), and \(6^{+}\), with mixing decreasing slightly with increasing J. The analysis indicates that 154Gd is very similar to 152Sm for these first two bands. Results suggest that the larger of the two experimental strengths that are available for the \(2_{2}\rightarrow 0_{2}\) transition in 154Gd is the correct one.
