Abstract

The results of field research in the area of planned deployment of onshore facilities on the Kola Peninsula in Russia for the development of the Stockman field are presented. The forming differences in the social well-being of local residents, in their perception of the occurring changes, in views, and in expectations regarding the proposed construction of a condensate plant are the subject of the study. The relevant problems of the local communities of two municipalities of the Arctic coast—Teriberka and Tumanny—are examined. The basic directions of possible changes in economic activity in this area, the impact on the existing enterprises, the dynamics of the supply and demand of labor resources and services production, and the transformation of the socioeconomic structure in the region are formulated.
