Abstract
The paper presents the results of a comparative analysis of the socioeconomic situation in Russian’s federal districts and calculations of a long-term forecast. Ways to improve the quantitative forecasting variables concerning the development of the national economy and different regions in order to make such variables more reliable are proposed.
