Abstract

The structural organization of the paravasal connective tissue of intraparietal blood vessels of the myocardium at different stages of postnatal ontogenesis has been investigated. The study was performed with heart tissue preparations from the bodies of 80 men of three age groups (first stage of maturity, n = 20; advanced age, n = 30; and old age, n = 30. Distinctive structural features were defined, and both qualitative and quantitative transformations of the connective tissue during each period were characterized.
