Abstract

The conducted demographic analysis of the age-specific mortality from malignant neoplasms in the Russian Federation population in 1980–2008 allows us to not only see the real picture of the positive impact of medicine and the negative impact of the environment, but also to identify the fundamental biological processes that determine the health and life expectancy of men and women in Russia. The authors believe that the aging process plays a leading role in the formation and development of malignant neoplasms.
