Abstract

The biological activity of a peptide-based geroprotector was studied on the basis of the calf aorta extract Slavinorm in experimental models of hyperlipidemia and acute myocardial infarction. The study results showed that Slavinorm has a pronounced antiatherogenic effect, which appeared in the optimization of the blood-lipid spectrum, including normalization of the atherogenicity factor due to an increase in the high-density lipids level and other cholesterol fractions decrease. In a model of acute myocardial infarction in rats, Slavinorm showed an antiischemic effect, which was expressed in a significant reduction in the necrotic zone after a 4-hour occlusion of the coronary artery, as compared with the parameters of the control animals, and a low incidence of postocclusion arrhythmias.
