Choosing Accumulation and Preliminary Heat Treatment Modes for Making Forged Ingots of Medium-Carbon Medium-Alloy Steels

Abstract

Problems connected with taking into account the processes of phase and structural transformations and the after-forging assignment of accumulation modes for forged ingots made of medium-carbon medium-alloy steels and preliminary heat treatment (PHT) thereof are considered. The main points on the basis of which PHT modes are chosen and limited use thereof is recommended with the use of isothermal austenitic transformation diagrams plotted according to a standard technique are analyzed and formulated.
