Epoxy-Anhydride Binders with Phosphonium Catalyst for Fabrication of Products from Composition Materials through Pressure Impregnation

  • Published:
Inorganic Materials: Applied Research Aims and scope

Abstract

Process advantages of phosphonium salt as a catalyst of epoxy compositions have been demonstrated and the characteristics of low-viscous epoxy-anhydride binders on its basis have been studied. The possibility of controlling the gel time of epoxy-anhydride compositions by using various concentrations of phosphonium catalyst has been shown. It has been determined that the binders with phosphonium salts possessing high working life at low temperatures exhibit higher activity than 2-methylimidazole at identical concentration of catalyst.
