To the Biology of Invasive Species Impatiens glandulifera Rоуlе (Balsaminaceae) in the Republic of Bashkortostan

Abstract

Morphometric parameters and population characteristics of the invasive species Impatiens glandulifera in the Southern Urals (Republic of Bashkortostan) were analyzed. Twenty-four centers of invasion in 20 regions of the Cis-Urals were examined. The density of the species in communities is 18–79 individuals per 1 m2, its biomass is from 1 to 9 kg/m2, and the share of the biomass of the species reaches from 49.7 to 99.0%; i.e., it dominates in all detected localities. It has been found that the maximum values of morphometry parameters are typical of populations growing in conditions that are more favorable in terms of moisture and soil supply, with a slight anthropogenic impact, and the minimum values are typical for populations growing under conditions of a stronger anthropogenic impact (recreational load, trampling, landfills). A good adaptation of the species to different growing conditions in new habitats and competitive advantages of I. glandulifera over local plant species were noted. There is a high probability of further settlement of the species in slightly disturbed, as well as natural habitats along the banks of the republic’s water bodies.
