Surface topography of lamellar and globular cementite in carbon steels under conditions of electrochemical dissolution

Abstract

The character of the dissolution of lamellar and globular cementite phase from carbon steels 60 and U8 is determined more accurately. The high anodic polarization of pearlite-structure steel is shown to result in the dissolution of domain boundaries of lamellar cementite and the predominant crumbling out of globular cementite.
