Abstract
The possibility of acceleration of corrosion cracking of steels due to hydrogenation of metal at the top of a developing crack is considered using mathematical modeling. Hydrolysis of the solution inside a developing crack may be a source of electrochemically reduced hydrogen that leads to embrittlement.
