A new view of the “surface energy-surface tension” problem

Abstract

We discuss the essence and relation of the surface energy and surface tension of condensed matter: which is which ... and when? For the first time these questions are answered based on the fundamental principle of minimization of potential energy of the system, given the time dependent transformation of the surface energy into surface tension.
