Abstract
The corrosion behavior of iron electrodes covered with benzene plasma-deposited films was investigated in 3% solution of NaCl via potentiometric method. It was established that, at the initial stages of coating deposition, an island-type metal-coating adhesion bond prevails, which results in the low protective potency of the coatings. After adhesion is established along the entire interphase region, an abrupt increase in the protective properties of the coatings occurs.
