Contemporary Problems of Ecology Aims and scope

Abstract

We studied peculiar features of profile distribution of the biomass of soil microorganisms and the total and specific metabolic activity of this biomass in the cryogenic soils of Central Yakutia. The peculiarities of changes in microbiological characteristics during the evolution of alas ecosystems and soils were analyzed. The effect of a complex of factors on the studied characteristics at different stages of long-term alas succession was estimated.
