Abstract

Relationships between the range of variation of electrophoretic profiles of seed polypeptides and ecological-phytocenotic conditions of the habitats of thirteen populations of Hedysarum theinum Krasnob. (tea sweetvetch) were studied. The variability of the seed polypeptide profiles were lower in H. theinum populations from the alpine zone than in those from the forest zone. The forest zone also included populations with the extreme values of variation. Populations from the least elevated parts of the alpine zone were characterized by low variability.
