Abstract

The effect of polymeric modification with the use of butadiene—styrene thermoplastic elastomer (BSTPE) on the low-temperature properties of BND 90/130 bitumen has been studied on a Fraas instrument and a dynamic shear rheometer. The efficiency of BSTPE modification with respect to the dynamic rheological properties of polymer-modified bitumen (PMB) at negative temperatures has been demonstrated. It has been noted that the complex shear modulus and phase angle of PMB samples are lower than for the bitumen samples and there are no signs of dynamic vitrification.
