The Effect of Cobalt Ions on Thermooxidation and Photooxidation of Polyethylene Containing Modified Montmorillonite

  • Published:
Polymer Science, Series D Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

Nanocatalysts obtained by applying cobalt salts to modified montmorillonite significantly accelerate the thermal oxidation and photooxidation of polyethylene. It is important that even short-term irradiation accelerates the thermal oxidation at 23°C. This makes it possible to obtain polymer materials with a regulated lifetime.
