Abstract
The review of scientific works carried out at the All-Russia Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) for 1938–1939 is presented. The works were devoted to the problem on developing the formulation for the adhesives based on phenol-formaldehyde resins. As a result, VIAM-B3 adhesive was developed, which is important for the aviation industry. For the first time, it became possible to use the structural materials based on refined wood in the Russian aviation industry.
